Last week we had the privilege of attending BlogPaws 2011 in Tyson’s Corner, VA (just a hop away from DC). While Hurricane Irene definitely created some trouble, we had a great time at the event! More than anything we were so excited to meet many of the fantastic bloggers and companies we’ve grown to know and love. (Let me tell you, they’re even more wonderful in person!). In addition to all of the amazing people, we learned about wonderful causes as well – in particular, Pedigree’s Write a Post, Help a Dog program.

Keep Your Pup Happy and Safe This 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July weekend! Around the country, millions of people are barbequing, soaking up the sun and enjoying a festive firework show. However, while you’re eating your hamburger and lighting that sparkler, make sure to keep your four-legged friends safe (and happy) too…

Since launching late last year, it has been a whirlwind of a ride for all of us here at P.L.A.Y.! In March, we received the honor of being named one of Dr. Marty Becker’s Best at the Global Pet Expo; earlier this month we mingled with celebs at the MTV Movie Awards Style Lounge; and just recently our Victorian beds in the Artist Collection were chosen as Pet Business’ Editor’s Choice for the month of June! To say the least, our goal to create modern dog beds and accessories is well on its way.

According to the ASPCA, 5-7 million companion animals enter shelters in the U.S. every year - that number doesn't even include the pets in the 5,000 independantly run shelters across the country. Sadly, due to space, time, and money, many of these pets don't see the outside of the shelter ever again.Think of all the things your favorite rescue or shelter could do with thousands of dollars worth of pet toys and supplies. While we would like to, many of us just don't have the resourses or money to donate thousands of dollars worth of supplies. Well, America's Favorite Veterinarian, Dr. Marty Becker, wants to help...

Some dogs eat everything in sight. In fact, there are even specific bowls to help slow down a dog's eating. My dog is not that dog. Our friends say it's our fault and that we spoil her so much. But she has always been picky - even as a puppy. Now five years old, we are constantly trying to figure out how to get her to eat her own food. I wouldn't be able to count on both hands the number of times we've switched up her food...
