Whether you’re a proud dog or cat owner, you can learn a lot simply by observing your pet’s sleeping position. Our furry friends can’t talk, of course, but their body language says more than enough. Our friends at Sleep Advisor conducted some research to see what your pet’s sleeping position says about them.
If your pet is sprawled out on the floor or sleeping with their belly up, it means they feel at home and trust you completely. It can also mean they’re trying to cool off after some playtime or a hot day. When you see your furball sleeping like this, know they love you — you might also want to turn on the fan to give then some extra airflow.
You may get a little worried when you see your pet continuously sleep in a guarded position, and you’re right to be concerned. Animals tend to curl up and cover their face when they want to be left alone or when they feel threatened. Be sure to give your pet some space and lots of attention when they wake up.
