Hello!
We're now halfway through the summer and I'm taking a quick break from lying in the sun to share an important message with you. While summer is traditionally awesome for you and for me, it's also a sad time of year for the hundreds of cats (and dogs!) who are abandoned by their owners when they go on vacation. I want to stress that no animal deserves to be cast out like a cheap and unloved out-of-season outfit. So if you're a pet-owner, please do the responsible thing and find a kennel or sitter that can care for your pet while you're away.
If you're thinking of adopting a pet, please think twice before adopting that adorable furball, especially if you're not going to be able to care 100% for its needs 24/7. On the other hand, if you are ready to make such a commitment, there's probably a shelter near you that's full of animals hoping for a second chance. I'm lucky that when the summer heat has faded, I've still got the warmth of a loving home -- please help to give all other cats and dogs out there the same kind of life that I have!
