Momo Monday: Save me (from being a couch potato) San Francisco

The weather is warming up and you know what that means! Trips to the beach so I can work on my tan and sip on a tasty Pina Colada while a couple of handsome Golden Retrievers fan me with banana leaves... Oh wait, Karl the Fog has decided to crash my party (and my dreams) so it looks like I’ll be bundling up with a scarf and waiting for my humans to tuck me warmly into the stroller I share with my baby bro. Although we might have some bipolar weather here in SF, this Pug is always up for an adventure, especially when there is food and lounging involved!

If you’re normally a couch potato like me but long for those beautiful sun-filled days in the city to go out and explore with your humans make sure to check out my list of pawesome restaurants that let us four-legged companions hang out and chill while catching falling food in our open and waiting mouths.

As much as I like to throw my paws up and relax, I do enjoy getting outside and showing the world what these tiny legs can do, so for added fun I included some outdoor activities you can do after your human fills up on tasty food at these restaurants. When I’m feeling motivated to get outside and burn off some extra calories from all the treats my parents spoil me with, these are the places that always get me barking for joy.

Park Chow

This 9th and Irving restaurant has been around for 20 years providing humans with delicious food and dogs with a place to relax and people watch under the warm outdoor heaters. This Inner Sunset restaurant is a local favorite and serves up some tasty enchiladas, salads and just about everything else that makes your mouth water. When your human’s have finished eating, stroll across the street and enjoy the tall trees and blooming flowers in Golden Gate Park. Maybe chase a squirrel or two if you haven’t filled up on floor scraps from Park Chow.

Duboce Park Café

With a dog painted on the side of their building you can bet these people are a dog lover’s favorite. Located across the street from Duboce Park, a plush, green open lawn area for dogs to fetch and hangout with their bffs, this café is hitting the mark at being dog friendly and fun. With plenty of outdoor seating you can scout out the park to see if any of your friends show up while your human munches on one of their tasty Cobb salads or a House Special Sandwich.

Park Chalet Garden Restaurant

Their vast lawn and seating options outside on the patio offers the perfect spot to grab a warm bowl of clam chowder or bite into a juicy burger. If your human is feeling extra good and wants to order a salad or yummy sammy, let them, I won’t judge. I’ll be too busy relaxing and breathing in the salty air blown over from Ocean Beach; hopefully your next stop after lunch so you can check out the surf and play in the refreshing water.

Momo’s

If you’re wondering if I saved the best for last, you’re right. Ok I might be a bit biased, but this restaurant is a favorite among San Francisco natives and visitors alike. After walking along the pier and taking in the views, remind your human to stop by Momo’s for a bite to eat. While grabbing a table here on the same day the Giants are playing might feel like a battle, don’t let that discourage you from checking them out. Their outside patio welcomes humans and furry friends alike, inviting them to enjoy the friendly and laidback atmosphere. While your human sips on a bloody mary you can help keep those pesky seagulls away and from eating up the fallen food. After all, that’s your job.
