Tidy Low Maintenance Fake Grass For Dog Play

Artificial grass lawns are becoming increasingly popular, with the latest growth being in residential gardens. The Synthetic Turf Council estimated that homeowners spend an average of 2.8 hours weekly on lawn maintenance. With that said, wouldn’t it be great to free up your spare time and live in a home with a perfectly maintained garden at all times, that also suits your dog?

Dogs like fake lawns

Initially, this low maintenance turf was popular for sports fields, but more recently has been used in parks, playgrounds and residential homes.  Recently, there has also been a considerable demand for it from the pet owner community. This is due to the many key features which make this style of grass really excel for dogs to run and play on.  However, there are various considerations with regard to the choice of artificial grass when it is to be used as a dog lawn.

Artificial grass type for your dogs

Your dogs will appreciate their new lawn, in particular how it feels to run and play on.  A dog daycare business stated that by introducing artificial turf their business had grown by 250% due to the positive impact this had on their reputation.  The right choice of artificial grass for dogs should feel springy under their paws but not slippery, as can be the case with natural grass, especially in damp conditions.  There should be a non-absorbent base so that no liquid is held inside of it. This is vital as the dog may use the grass as a toilet area. It should also be made of a non-porous material such as polypropylene to avoid odors becoming trapped in the product. Nylon for instance, is not suitable due to its porous nature.

Low maintenance

Dog owners will love this.  No longer do dog families have to feel ashamed of their dirty, muddy, messed up lawn.  Instead, they can have beautiful green lawns that any non-doggie visitor will admire! Those dog toilet moments can be easily and quickly identified and cleared up, unlike in natural grass where uneven tufts of grass can hide dog poops.  Obviously, an amount of hosing or washing down of the lawn is required, especially when used as a doggie toilet, but this is simple and quick.  The savings in time from no longer requiring mowing are appreciated by all homeowners, especially those who would rather be playing with their dogs!

No more soggy lawns and muddy paws

If you ask any dog owner, the problems in relation to the yard area are all too familiar.  Muddy, grass bare patches, dogs slipping in the mud as they run or play and dirty paw prints all over the house floors are all regular occurrences during the winter months.  All this will be completely avoided by the right choice of turfs for your yard. You and your dog can enjoy fun times ahead with your luxury grass.
