Where Are Your Products Made?

Our factory is located in Shenzhen, Guangdong province of China, with direct access to some of the most highly skilled cut-and-sew workforce and fabric mills. It is a small batch, boutique factory that makes products in small batches, with an average of 80 employees throughout the year.

Our factory has been in the business for close to 30 years, making children’s products for companies like Disney, Hello Kitty and Bandai. Our factory is Disney-audited every year and P.L.A.Y. personally visits the factory no less than 4x a year. Our visits are important. It enables us to inspect the facility and develop close working ties with the people making our products. We count ourselves lucky to be partnering with a factory whose owners are meticulous and proud to be making some of the industry’s best products and believe in treating their employees right. The average tenure of an employee is 7-8 years with a 95% retention rate.

Are Your Products Non-Toxic?

All materials used in our beds and toys pass stringent USA and EU tests including ASTM (safety standards for North America) and EN-71 (safety standards for Europe). ASTM and EN-71 test for 19 types of metals. These tests ensure that our products do not contain any toxic and harmful substances like formaldehyde, heavy metal, boric acid, etc. All products are AZO-free. Our standard Chill Pads and Snuggle Beds are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 tests for over 100 harmful substances like carcinogenic colorants, formaldehyde and allergenic dyes. With this certification, the product is tested out to the very last strand of thread, which means you and your pup can sleep easy knowing that this textile is 100% non-toxic, 100% certified safe, and 100% quality assured.

Do Your Products Contain Flame-Retardants?

No, our products do not contain any of the following flame-retardants or chemicals: TDCPP (chlorinated Tris), PentaBDE (pentabrominated diphenyl ether) or Firemaster 550

What If My Dog Chews Through the Bed/Plush Toy and Eats the Stuffing?

Our beds and toys are made to last but we understand that accidents do happen! We advise that any damaged products be removed immediately to prevent the indigestion of any parts of the damaged product. Our toys are double layered and inversely stitched so that stuffing does not immediately fall out if the exterior layer is breached. Our Fetching Flock and Canine Commute Plush Toy Sets, which are geared more towards larger, rougher play time pups, feature our PLAYGuardTM technology where an extra layer of durable lining is added in to prevent a messy floor in the event your furry friend gets through to the stuffing. In the event your dog chews through both protective layers and gets to the stuffing, rest assured that our PlanetFill® polyfiber stuffing is certified non-toxic; however, as with anything consumed in excessive amounts just be sure to consult your vet.

In 2015, P.L.A.Y. was honored to be upgraded from Silver to Gold Certified by Green America's Green Business Certification program. We are serious about helping the environment and Green America has recognized that we have gone above and beyond in making greater progress toward greener business practices. Furthermore, they recognize P.L.A.Y. as a leader in our industry that embeds social responsibility into the DNA of our company.

How Are Your Products Socially Responsible?

In June 2016, P.L.A.Y. became a Certified B Corporation joining the growing community of over 3,300 companies because we wanted to be part of a larger movement of people using business as a force for good.

There are only four companies in the pet industry who are Certified B Corp. and we are proud to be one of them!
