Puppy Love Inspired Decor

Pet owners know that a dog’s love is incomparable. Show your furry friends just how much you care about them by incorporating their cute characteristics into your home’s design. From patterns inspired by their personalities to paw-friendly miniature stairs, we’re counting down our favorite ways to show off puppy love in interior design.

Picture Perfect

A picture is truly worth a thousand words, especially if gush over your pet often. To show off your furry friend—and your ability to create a super stylish space—consider adding a picture (or three) of your pet to a gallery wall. Whether in an organic configuration with trinkets and accessories on display or a grid setup featuring your pet in different poses, a gallery wall is a perfect place to display your furry friend’s photogenic personality.

For a dose of glamour, opt for black and white pictures in metallic frames, or give your wall an eclectic spin by framing and displaying other personal touches like a dog collar, puppy school certificate or a paw print.

Mutt Motif

There’s nothing quite like a pattern, color or texture that reminds you of your favorite pet. Whether it’s a spotted throw that mimics your Dalmatian’s shiny coat or a shag rug that feels the same as your scruffy new puppy, the warmth that blankets, pillows, linens and floor coverings give to a home is similar to the warmth of puppy love.

Sprinkle in patterns inspired by your pet, like spots, paw prints, dog silhouettes, shaggy textures and more. The same goes for colors: Use shades of gray, brown, beige, white or black to create a neutral backdrop while simultaneously paying homage to your pampered pet.

Rest Stop

Nothing says “I love you” quite like a cozy alcove reserved for your furry friend. To make your pet feel right at home, create a rest area for him with a comfy pet bed, blankets and a storage area for toys and accessories.

Help weave the rest area into the rest of your home’s design by using monochromatic or neutral colors and textures similar to other fabrics, accents and accessories already in your space. Take it one step further and incorporate a piece of furniture that doubles as a dog crate or bed, like a decorative teepee, side table or chair.

A Little Help, Please

If you have a new puppy or a senior dog in your residence, they might be having trouble getting around and accessing certain areas of the house. If they struggle to climb the stairs or jump onto a bed, couch or chair, help them out with stairs, slides and escalating accessories made especially for pets that ease them into their favorite spots. Store the helpful home accessories out of sight by slipping them under the bed or behind the couch for easy and accessible storage.

What are some of your favorite ways to show your pup love around the house?
